Now that there are LSs around and a number of us have them in hand, has anyone done any comparisons or tests on 123 lithium batteries. I am interested in:

What brands last the longest

What brands give the best value (price of the battery compared to its life)

Who has the best prices

Purchasing by the dozen or in bulk as a way to save some cash
[/list]I've always used duracell for my camera and my surefires, and have been happy with the battery life, but they seem expensive.
Picked up some duracells at Fry's for 5.99 each, but I've other brands, Toshiba and Panasonic, on ebay for less.

How has your own experience been with Duracells against, say, those e-bay Panasonics? I just bought a bunch of those Panasonics and they seem fine so far, have not tested them for anything yet though...

I've never tried the ebay Panasonics, but one of the dealers, I forget who, told me that the Panasonics have a much shorter life. I've been reluctant to waste money verifying it for myself.

I just had a chance to try a surefire 123, in a light that nascar sent me, and it seems find so far. However, I was reading on surefire's board, a lot of complaints about batteries failing after 10-15 minutes. On the average it seems like a 10-20 percent failure rate on the surefires from those who reported problems. I was about to order a dozen, but now I'm hesitating.

Bought some Energizer e2 123 cells today. The seem to be noticably lighter in weight than the duracells. Too soon to tell if lighter weight translates to shorter life.
