I mostly use AA cells.... but I have been getting a few more 123 lights recently and need to keep some 123 batteries on hand.
I have seen the videos on the net of 123 cells burning violently and while I'm not overly concerned I think I would feel better keeping the 123's in an steel amo can. Any opinions on that?
I was wondering where you folks kept your 123 cells??

Basically any plastic container that I can get my hands on. The whit-ish round and rectangular ones are Lock-n-lock brand - really nice for the price. The rectangular fits over 30 cells, and the round one up to 9.

Minimag boxes work nicely too for stashing a lot of 123's in them.

Oh wow, I was just about to go buy an ammo box from an army surplus store for the ever increasing number of 123 cells I'm getting. I'm glad this question was asked, and thanks to all that have responded.

I guess I'll start keeping my eye out for a nice plastic container of some sort. Although, I might still get an ammo box and rig up some sort of plastic divider system for the inside.

I suggest one of the waterproof pelican cases that Batterystation sells, you can find them lots of other places but his come with batteries :p They're both non-conductive, easy to find, AND waterproof, which is one of the things I'd worry about, especially if travels around or is being kept around for emergency use (floods, hurricanes, boating).

I have a couple of the older surefire heavy duty cardboard boxes that contained 12 123's each. I keep one of them in my caving/climbing supply box to supply my lights in there, and I keep one in another drawer.

I recently got a 50-pack from batteryjunction and I just keep them in the cardboard box they came in. That will change soon. I might get some of the plastic boxes that batteryjunction sells.

Unfortunately, the current surefire 12-pack boxes are flimsy card stock, and not the heavy cardboard they used to be :( I'm going to be using these boxes for a long time!
