I'm wanting to mount a 6V lantern in the vehicle. The lantern uses a 12Ah SLA battery. It would be nice to just leave it on the charger as one does for backup lighting in a building (fused and diode protected, of course). Been looking for a two-stage (smart) charger that takes 12V in. The only one I've found so far is by Powerstream http://www.powerstream.com/SLA.htm (scroll down), and it's a little more than I wanted to spend ($156).

Also looked at the Turnigy Accucel 6-50W charger http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/..._6_50W_6A_Balancer_Charger_w_accessories.html that was recommended in some other threads, but the manual implies that it charges at only one voltage with Pb batteries.

Are there any other options out there? ...and seeing as how this in a vehicle and subject to temperature extremes, it there an SLA charger that will factor in ambient temp?
