15/8 A (168s-equivalent) NiMH cells

American Scientific and Surplus has what appear to be MiMH 15/8A cells for $1 each. Dimensions are given as 2-9/16" (2.563") x 5/8" (0.625"). Allegedly >= 3000mAH.

These are a bit too large for any project I might have in mind, but I just thought I'd spread the word.

They looks like they could sub for Pila 168s cells were it not for the 1.2V voltage.

18650 NiMH cells had been around with 4.5Ah for a while. I do have plenty of 3.8Ah ones lying around....

I thought that $1 would be a good price for a >3Ah NiMH cell - ~66% of the watt-hours of a Pila for ~5% of the price. They should fit into any NiMH charger capable of handling D cells.
