17670 battery questions for Surefire M6

I am curious about a M6 1185 lamp 3 x 17670 battery setup

1. I was thinking that the 3 x 17670 holder had a plug that you could use with a universal smart charger to charge the three batteries without removing them from the pack. Is that not true?

2. The batteries I have for this are AW unprotected cells. Is there any worry in using unprotected cells in this application?

They are simply a battery cradle alot like the one that comes with the M6, except for 17670's.

I believe there are alot of risks with using unprotected cells, and I wouldn't do so myself.

You can charge the batteries in the holder with a universal charger.
Unprotected batteries may overcharge. Buy protected batteries.
