Tom made this to my drawing after we discussed a little:
I sent him the E thread die I had bought so he could make one for himself too. The 6.4mm thread length should be more like 6.6mm or more so an o-ring will fit better.
So I assembled it to a McC2S 60 ohm switch and SOB1000 Q3 3A modded KX1 from member BigBoy & dropped in an 18500. Any E-head that supports 4.2V, like a KL1, KX2, E2DL (maybe an L1...), etc., will work. A Creemator will be spending some time on this.
I didn't have a bezel o-ring at work where I took the picture.
It's 116mm long (actual size picture above ...on my monitor) and puts out a lot of light on high and a little on low. It is a well focused, hand adjusted & re-epoxied KX TIR smooth beamed thrower. It isn't quite 1000mA off an 18500, but close. This is just about ideal size/runtime/output/UI balance.
