Does anybody know where i can get one, if not if will make one, is Aluminium a good enough conducter or do i need to use something better??.

Cheers Nic

I can make you one with Delrin and Aluminum or Brass. Why do you need it?

I am getting a nailbender SST-50 for my wolfeyes Rattlesnake wich holds 2x18650 but the Driver for the SST-50 only accepts up to 6v , so therefore i need a dummy cell.

I can make one (thanks for the offer though) , i just though someone might sell them, i see plenty of CR123 dummy cells but couldn't find 18650 dummy cells.

Obviously Aluminium is ok??

Aluminum would be fine, just try to wrap it in something that could act as an insulator.

If you are interested, I finally ordered the materials to do custom dummy cells (brass/delrin). Just toss me a PM if interested.

Hey Eric

I just ordered some Derlin myself, and am about to get some Brass or Alloy, so thanks for the offer, i will post a pic up here when i've made a dummy cell, if it goes well i might make a few more if people want them.

Thanks again

I just use poplar wood dowel. Cut it to length, drill a hole through it and press in 1/4" brass bar stock. A little dab of epoxy on the ends keeps the brass from falling out.

A cheaper alternative to brass would be solid core copper wire. Something in a heavier AWG ~14-18 should suffice. Home depot sells it for a couple bucks per LF. Just strip off the insulation and youre left with an alternative to copper stock.

Poplar is a great wood because its strong enough and easy to work with. A lot of childrens toys are made from Poplar. Its a very uniform grain timber so you don't have to worry about variation in material.
