Hi, I could not find a thread on this, so I thought I would ask the experts in this section. I have a Fenix TK12. It runs fine off of a AW 17650. Fenix is making a 18650 tube for the light. Any ideas of what percentage of runtime an 18650 would give over a 17650?

I am not sure if I should buy the 18650 tube...or just an extra 17650 or two...since I have another light that will run on the 17650...but not the 18650. (Olight T20)

Thanks for your help!

on average about 1/3rd more runtime than the 17650.
well worth it, depending on how much the tube costs :) 17650s are still (often) very good durable good capacity cells, so its not way off, there are still good 17 cells.

Thanks VidPro, 1/3 is a pretty big difference! Ill look forward to the new tube then.

Thanks again,

brad

Using the same light (on high), I get about 1 hour 34 minutes runtime using an AW 17670 1600 mAh cell.

Using an AW 2200 mAh 18650 cell, I get 2 hours and 8 minutes.

Using a Trustfire 2400 mAh 18650, I get 2 hours 26 minutes.

It is definitely worth it. 18650s are usually easier to find than 17670s, and there tend to be more options available to choose from.

18650 Ho! :D... they are the 'standard' of LiON bat's... its good to use them
