I'm going to attempt this review again. Last night I typed it & when I went to send, lost my ISP connection & all the info. Review is on Ripoffs CO-8 & CO-44. I'm beginning to feel I've quit collecting lights & started collecting holsters. Much cheaper.
CO-8 is a clip on holster designed for the Mini-Mag carried in a band & pocket with a flap designed for a small light, folding knife, or multitool. I was hopeing the band would be large enough for the Reactor, but it's not. Could probably be stretched, but I'll likely just keep it for the M-M with a LS dropin of some varity. If your light has the rubber clickie (Kroll)switch, it doesn't want to go in either, but does well with the SL style clickie. Now for the pocket. It's a bit on the small size. The only light I have that fits well is the CMG Infinity Ultra. My E2 will fit, but only get about 1/2" flap contact on the velcro. A smaller multitool will fit, but my Leatherman Super Tool is too large. Also, a full size folding Buck style knife is too large to fit well. Had they made this pouch a little larger, it would be a much more useful holster. However, if you have a mod Mini-Mag & an Infinity Ultra, this would make a very useful, small grab-n-go, clipon light package. Also, cost was only $8.50. I believe NiteIze makes one for $3, but it's a belt type, & I generally don't wear a belt. I may get one just to compare the difference.
Now to the more useful CO-44. This is a 4 pocket holster. The 4th pocket is a flat one in the back good for ID, cash, small map, note pad, or such. Accross the front, you have 2 large covered pockets & a small one in the middle. I was hopeing the small one would hold my X5, but it's too small. However, my SL Batonlite fits very well. The bottom is open, but the light is snug enough there's no fear of it comming out. The new SL 3N Poly light may fit, but I don't have one, so I'm not sure. There is a center top strap that goes over this pocket, but is not necessary as the other 2 flaps meet in the middle. I'll probably just cut it off. You do still have the velcro strip sewn on the outside of that pocket you could use as a holder for something else. May even make a holder from the strap I cut off.
Now for the 2 larger pockets. They are both closed on the bottom. They are sized for a 6P, G2, E2, ARC LS w/2AA pac, or other size light. If you stretch one of the pockets, you could fit the Scorpion or Triad, but as is, the rubber handle is too much friction. The pockets are just stitched at the bottom, not folded over, so I'm thinking of cutting the stitches on one pocket to expand my carry options. I then should be able to carry the 9V SF or my LGI. Currently this holster is carrying my E2e, X5T, & SL Batonlite. This should cover most of my needs in a single grab-n-go light package. The holsters can be found at
www.ripoffs.com & purchashed at
www.filmtools.com . They charge actual shipping cost, like BG does, without all the built in "other" cost. I bought 5 holsters & shipping was around $5. TX
