2000-2500 Lumens project - Is it doable?

Take it easy on me here, I'm still grasping all the technical concepts of electronics but I have a flashlight addiction and own quite a few LED flashlights. The brightest I own is my Fenix tk30 that I carry everywhere but as of lately, I want something brighter....much brighter!! I do have a habit of taking things apart and seeing how everything works as well as soldering things together.

Now I'm doing research on LED's to use as well as finding a driver to power this LED/these LEDs, but I want to see what combination I can use to get 2000 to 2500 lumen with rechargeable batteries. So far from what I've been seeing, the Cree XM-L looks tasty at 1000 lumen at a particular amperage and voltage but not sure what driver to get from where and how difficult to wire these guys up. I could use some help if anybody got the time. Thanks...

Once you get into the multi-thousands of lumens, it becomes a lot faster and easier to just go the HID route. Here's 3200 lumens for $70..

I don't make lights to sell, But I do sell the lights I made, most of the times.
As I almost never use them.

damn straight! Ma's like a drug dealer... He makes ridiculously powerful lights, swearing they're for his own personal use, then sells them to unsuspecting victims like you or I, getting us hooked on more and more lumens. I've bought a few lights from him, each more powerful than the last. I've no idea where it will end... probably when I accidentally look into the pointy end of one of them, and end up blind - rendered completely unable to appreciate their addictive power.

I just sold one of the three short-arcs I built, The 500,000 lux@ 1 meter Beast killa, the only short arc I made in flashlight form & the only short arc flashlight ever made on CPF.

Considering that the Nuke isn't a thrower, lots of lumens but throw is in 30-50,000 lux @ 1 meter range, the short arc's center spot is more than 10 times brighter than the "nuke".

You'll never lose the ability to enjoy the hobby, cuz 500,000 lux@ 1 meter is enough to excite the retina of the blind
