Re: 2002 Lummies: Winner\'s and their Comments

Hey I just noticed you announced the winners! This deserves a big bump to get it on the active/last 50 lists.

BUUUUMMMMP!!!!!

Was that big enough?

Re: 2002 Lummies: Winner\'s and their Comments

Actually I didn`t vote

In my (alleged) position as a Reviewer I can`t be seen to have preferences (even though I have). I must remain impartial, or at least try to.

I could also say that I`m hopeless making my mind up and could not come up with definate choices for most of the categories, but I`d rather not admit to that...

Re: 2002 Lummies: Winner\'s and their Comments

Excellent work Ron. I must say of all the catagory winners there is one that really surprised me. Favorite battery manufacturer - Duracell? While they make a fine product, I don't find much difference between them and Energizer, However energizer offers the lithium AA battery, and because of that alone I thought the vote would go to Energizer. I'm curious to hear why people voted for Duracell. Is there something about Duracell that makes them better than Energizer?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Quality-wise, probably not.

Popularity-wise, two thoughts come to mind on why Duracell has the slight edge:

1) first-to-market ("premium" alkaline) in the minds of the general public,

plus,

2) huge advertising and marketing budget (not that Energizer doesn't have one also)...

Re: 2002 Lummies: Winner\'s and their Comments

I like Rayovacs the best! I can get Rayovac Maximum Plus for $.25 each ($1.00 for 4) on a regular basis, not in bulk. I find very little, if any, difference between Rayovac and Energizer. Duracell seems to have an edge in numbers, but in realistic use all three are practically the same.

Re: 2002 Lummies: Winner\'s and their Comments

Jeff-

I received a total of 72 votes.

Compared to total CPF Membership a poor voter turnout, but compared to the number of "active" CPF contributors, I'd say it was a okay turnout.

We'll have better turnout next year!

Re: 2002 Lummies: Winner\'s and their Comments

Just added winner's comments from none other than Surefire's Marketing Manager, Derek McDonald. It's nice to know that Surefire is listening.

Hey, and a little bird told me that PK is possibly going to reply to the Favorite Non-Rechargeable Flashlight (Surefire E2e), and possibly to the Favorite Flashlight Accessory (Surefire KL1 LED bezel). Let's hope so!

Re: 2002 Lummies: Winner\'s and their Comments

As promised, PK has replied with his comments for winning the Favorite Non-Rechargeable (E2e) and Favorite Flashlight Accessory (KL1).
