They didn't let Russians compete? That's a shame. When they make rules like this, they must understand that not having the country's backing means they don't have their funding to get trained and get to the Olympics. It basically guarantees that nobody will show up with being able to say they weren't technically banned. I'm sure there are plenty of tough real Russian women that would have kicked butt in boxing. The Olympics are supposed to bring the nations together. I'd rather have nations compete in friendly competition and build relationships with other nations than have us go to war over the latest stupid thing. Athletes in Russia aren't to blame for Putin's actions. Many Russians are regretting the loss of McDonalds and many other western businesses that had to leave. They've suffered enough. They deserve better.Reading about the Olympics before it started, seems like Russians could compete but not as a representative of Russia?
Any update on that?
