Both my HD 18650 on a 21700 and my M61 H/L on an MD2 with two RCR123s (for nice low) feels like perfect lights. A bit ironic since I started out with 18650 battery lights. I blame this forum :)

After some reading up, I think I’ll get an MD3, an M31W and some sleeves and spacers next, beautiful concept.

It is but you need to be careful when using a 3 volt dropin in a host that will surpass that. I’m sure your good but someone could drop 3 123’s or a couple 18500’s in there an your in trouble.

Yes, but so nice to be able to use everything from AAAs to 18650s in the same flashlight (MD3 w/ M31, M61, M61NLL). Have so many AAs lying around unused.

Absolutely. As long as you keep track of what dropin is in. That would make an awesome setup.

@wacbzz - did you try a clip made for the imported 21700 lights like what I posted a pic of?
I actually ordered the PD36R clip from Fenix. I am waiting for it to arrive. I just received a PD36 TAC so when I get home this evening, I’m going to try that one out.

I do like the two way PD36R clip better though...I appreciate the serious help with that particular clip.
