2AA Fluorescent $2.97 Radio Shack Closeout

I just went to radio shack 3 days ago and I looked at this light and it was $9.99 so i passed on it....if they are now down to $2.97, thats hard to beat so I'll be making another trip up there.

They are still $11.99 at my local RS.

I used to work at Radio Shack. Some stores are independently owned and operated as a franchise. Those owners may choose not to discount the light. Look at the store number on the top of your receipt (something like “01-1234”), if it starts with a “22-“ it’s a franchise.

R.S. employee discount is 25%.on R.S. brand products.

I just got mine and im its worth $3.19 including tax. I dont think I wouldve bought it at the regular price though. $11.99 is better spent on saving for the E2e or some 123's for my Scorpion and 2L.

I like the case on this light. The striations on front and back are unusual. Seems very dense with no wasted space inside. Battery doors are easy to open, but snap shut so firmly I doubt I'll ever loose one. Wonder what the new improved version will look like.

I measured it's current draw at 900mA; that's a heck of a load for a pair of AAs. Were it not that battery life will be pretty short, this would be a nice reading light; clip it to your shirt and the aim would be just about right.

I passed these up before at $10 or so. Glad I did. Glad I got to play with one for $3

I picked one up. But mine does not light up the entire "U" evenly. Are they all like that?

Thanks,
- Vikas

Just found a RS nearby with PLENTY in stock. Reason: they are still 11.99 also. The mgr. copped an attitude when I inquired about the discount as in the other RS stores and he replied (snorted) "They didn't have any, did they?" and just stared me down. To which I replied, "Oh well, couldn't hurt to ask." He just mumbled "Whatever!" under his breath. Lesson learned: Avoid "Mr. Personality" type retail managers when at all possible.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">That's easy.. Remain nice and courteous and take down his name and have a little chat with his district manager. You'll be AMAZED at how fast a clown like this will come around (after he receives his reprimand)!!

seems to be a few around dayton.
gonna get 4 more at least tomorrow.
was told the xenia store has 10.
i can snag those too.
kinda neat.
i see solar night lights made of these🙂

they are 11.99 at all the stoes i hit in the dayton oh area but they ring 2.97
seems some managers are slow to reprice things.

I bought my remote control watch at radio shack that was priced $34.99 and rang up $12.99 so it does seem a lot of their items are discounted but not marked.

Oh no another thing that there are 2 threads going on about, anyhew I finally got one yesterday. I decited to just start hitting Radios Shacks when I was close by one(There as common as 7-11s around here) with intentions of picking up a $1 Nordic 2-C cell light. Well 1st radioshack had nothing. Second Radioshack in a mall had 1 left on the peg, marked $6.97 or something, asked the guy to price check it and it came up as like $2.97...I took it.
