I got a couple of these back today with the flickering issue and as I suspected, giving the staked solder blob a couple more hits with the center punch alleviated the problem. For good measure on these, I added a second solder blob in the other fill hole and staked it as well.

BTW ... fixing the flickering, in case you got some, is a piece of cake. Even I could do it 🙂

I had some flickering but thought it was just pocket lint accumulating. After cleaning it I did not notice any flickering but I didn't really leave it on for a more than a few minutes to see if the flickering continued. I'll have to check it out further.

Don, I want to get one of the sapphires but funds are not what they were at one point and a few other items I want maybe of a less available nature. How deep are your stocks(if you dont mind) and will this be an ongoing item

I think I have a bout a dozen on hand at the moment. I don't have a next wave of components on order presently because I do have inventory but I do want to continue with these because I just like them. 🙂

Sorry I missed this question. No, I am not offering the mule version at present and no plans, at present, to build more. The future is open and unknown.

Pretty much the only reason I care about the modular light engine in the Sapphire/Ti-AAA is because I'd want to put a brighter, higher-CRI LED in it. Figures you'd beat me to the punch.

Do you have a beamshot comparison between the regular Sapphire and the Sapphire Mule?
