Hard to believe there are any of these left. Every quad should have one of these as its home. Double the runtime of the standard 18650 hosts.

they serve the same purpose as the 26650, I actually think this is the smartest design for high draw uses because you can use any pair of matched 18650 to run a 6 amp dropin.

It's not as big as I feared and looks pretty darn mean!

I had to remove a couple of mm off the top of the battery carrier
with a dremel and some 200 grit for my unprotected NCR18650a
to make contact. It was pretty easy except the carrier is steel not
aluminum  and I have a crummy cordless dremel ;)

In a perfect world Id like an aluminum carrier to save weight-
maybe Ill mod mine and whittle it down a bit  since Id like
to use this as a bar light host on my MTN bike.

also, not sure if the inner ring is holding my Van Isle quad in or
not- I jammed it in with copper foil tho so I doubt its going anywhere.

so for anyone having problems with unprotected or short cells not making
contact - just sand down the top of the carrier a little. You could even
grind it on the sidewalk if you had to:sick2: (some of us dont have tools)
lovecpf

some of the optics VIDSM uses may be more narrow the the inner ring, in this case some arctic silver 5 and a thin UCL lens like the ones shao sold should solve the issue nicely. All quads should be thermally bonded to this and any host to eliminate air gaps and maximize heatsinking and thus output

Looking forward to this Varooj! This is by far the most underrated design, people should be going crazy for these, it will be a sleeper and everyone who misses one will kick themselves =)

Can a 32650 also be substitued for the dual 18650? Not really ant reason to do so considering 2X 3100mah cells gives you 6200mah!!!!

Yah- I stuffed it in there with copper tape so hard I doubt it will slip forward. I used a small amount of AS-5 as well but u have to be careful with thy stuff as I've had connection issues after over applying.

Varooj...will the tube fit a 32650 Li-Ion cell? They're a tiny bit longer than AW's 18650s, and I'm wondering how much spring-travel space there is inside.

Got mine today, man I love how this host feels in hand! The panasonic 3100mah cells fit perfectly, there is definitely enough room for a 32650 which makes this my favorite host of all time!

The socket for the p60 dropin was really tight on mine, it will require some sanding to get my VIDSM quads to fit comfortably but that is no problem, my Kenji and standard p60 Vinh/nailbenders fit perfectly

The anno on this host is really great, I love how matte it is and it feels awesome and well balanced in hand. It is pocket able because it is smooth but it is definitely a bit larger than most would edc, it is more of a light you take knowing you are going to be running it a long time like on a night hike.

The people who miss these will be hunting for them for years to come, it is way ahead of it's time just like the original 26650 hosts FM did

Excellent work V!!!!!

Got mine today, this thing is phenominal! I think I have found my ultimate tailstander. I imagine in a power outage this will run forever on any "LL" Malkoff!

Thanks V!
