i have this crazy idea, can anyone please tell me if I'm out of my mind; PR DB917 from McGizmo which can used 2x123 to 4x123 cells, the L4 body can take 2x123, by adding 1 unit of 123 cell extender to the L4 body which will take 3x123, by adding 1 more extra unit of the 123 cell extender again, that will eventually take 4x123. So do you think i'm out of my mind or do you think it will work?

an L4 body will only take cell extenders on the head end
there is no way to put a cell extender on the tail unless you want to make up a special spring/dummy battery that fits through the switch hole.

how about stacking 2 units of 123 cell extender together?

sorry - didnt explain my last post the way i meant to
the cell extender just makes the battery tube longer - the batteries touch head to tail to make contact. the L4 with a extender will need a special thingy to allow contact between batteries in the body and the batteries in a cell extender on the tail end. - you cant take the batteries out of the tail end of an L4 - the hole is smaller than the diameter of a 123.
to take the batteries out of a L4 you have to take the head off.

Just get a 3-Cell body from the Shoppe. They work on the E-Series lights and tail caps..

Thanks for your explaination but i can't seem to be able to get what you trying to say. I just got a PM from Doug Speck (Thanks, Doug. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink2.gif) saying 1 or 2 units of his 123 cell extender together with a L4 body will give me 3x123 or 4x123 combo. I'm going to use these combo on a PR head with DownBoy driver.

It's easiler to carry a few units of 123 extender each with a 123 battery in it. I can use the spare batteries in the L4 body which take 2x123 or stack the 123 extenders to make a 3x123, 4x123 or even 5x123 light.

Now if only Doug can make some caps in the same finish for his 123 cell extender. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink2.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink2.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink2.gif
