3 L.E.D.'s and 2 AAA batteries....anyone know anything about this light?

Re: 3 L.E.D.\'s and 2 AAA batteries....anyone know anything about this light?

Sorry, don't know anything about that one.
With 2 batteries, it almost has to have a step-up converter, especially considering you can't get higher-voltage lithiums in AAA size yet. The statement "Japan made LEDs" probably means they're Nichia, but there's no telling what color or brightness rank they are without actually seeing the flashlight.

At least Shoplifestyles appears to be reasonably honest about the run-time - 8 hours. They, like many other merchants - tend to use deceiving text in some of their product descriptions in hopes of snagging a few extra "idiot sales".

Thanks Craig. I saw it and thought it looked kind of interesting. If I decide to try one of these, I'll let you know.

These are the same guys who sold the "titanium" light to Don a while back, right? The titanium that turned out to be Ti-colored mystery metal...

These guys certainly finds some unique lights to sell though. I'll give 'em that.

Yeah.....I wasn't really expecting actual titanium in these things. Seem everyone and their dog sticks a matt metal coating on something and calls it titanium these days. Do you know if the lights turned out to be ok/worth the money or just junk?

I can't remember Don's comments, exactly. But it seems to me that it wasn't worth the "apparently inexpensive price" that he paid for it.

I have purchased from these guys in the past. I bought 2 different types of lights and returned one. Unless they show some picture details, I would doubt any electronics are present. It's too cheap to have any... IMHO

This is also the outfit that sells the "Collimator LED Light" that I reviewed earlier. Later destroyed the LS led while tgrying to improve the beam pattern. Shipped the remains to Craig so he could photograph and publish the results of my handiwork!

The light lasts 11 years. Batteries only 8 hours.
