Anyone know if the 3p lamp assembly is the same size as the 6p lamp assembly? I think some of the 3v Cree dropins would go a long way towards making this little beastie a pocket thrower from hell.

Same size and works great! :)

@Chrontius: You'd have to find a drop in that is designed for the older 6P and can run off of a single 3.7v cell. Given the number of P60 drop ins, it should be simple.

Exceedingly - if anyone's interested I'll post a list - but I'm looking at the stuff DealExtreme has, leaning toward a single-brightness lamp, the Wolf Eyes stuff that always, always starts off on high (sort of like the interface on the new Surefire Backup), and the Ebay stuff that's pushing 300 lumens from a Q5.

the Malkoff Devices conversion would be nice, but is unregulated below 3.8 volts.

Anyone know of anything like this that they're totally in love with, or failing that an atomic high-beam?

Doesn't all this talk of "Cree", and "regulation" belong in the LED forum?

But the 3p is an incandescent flashlight, and the question started off about the stock bulb.
