3V AA batteries on Ebay .....

You need to find out what the maximum current they can supply continuously. I have come across lithium batterys like these with a maximum constant current rating of 25ma thats not a typo by the way. See if you can get the part number of the battery from the ebay vendor so you can do a search on the specification of the battery. You will need to do a search on CPF aswell to find out what current the LID sucks from the battery.
 
Those are memory batteries, designed for CMOS backup, clock backup, etc.

They are very low current drain and not suitable for flashlight use.
