I'm looking for a company who makes an adaptor holder that will hold 4 AAA cell NiMH batteries wired in series (4.8v) and physically arranged in two columns of two side by side in a holder that is the same dimensions as 2 Cell batteries end to end. What I'm trying to do is to change the power source in my handheld laser from using 2 C cell batteries to 4 of the NiMH AAA cells. Not only is the current draw from the laser large (750ma or so), but the laser output is very voltage dependent and requires at least 3V for Max output. With 2 alkaline C cells at 750ma, the output power quickly drops off due the current load. If I can replace the 2 C cells with a battery holder that holds the 4 AAA rechargeables, I'll be at 4.8V and the output power won't drop off until the output from the 4 AAA's drops to below .75v on each cell.

Any ideas? I've been searching on google this morning with no success and thought that someone over here might be able to point me in the right direction.

Thanks
Jack

you said "any ideas?"....... so here is one:

this sounds like a princeton tec attitude. could you modify an old-style attitude to be your battery holder?

Hi watt4, thatks for your input on this.
I have no idea what an "old-style" is can you elaborate?

Thanks
Jack

Hey, I'm looking for 4AAA to C holders. I want to use 8AAA in a 2C light. If anybody knows any sources, please let me know.
