4 x 14500 safe?

i'm thinking about a custom 1D mag build from wquiles. he can bore the mag body to accept a fivemega 4xAA holder, but would it be safe to fill the holder with 4 x AW 14500s?

No less save than any other multi-Li-ion set-up.

What are they going to power? Assuming they'll be in series, do you really need 14.8V? If you can get away with 11.1V or 7.4V, there are a lot of higher capacity options.

i was actually thinking of having milky build something up for me along the lines of a triple P7 and the only reason i like the 4 x 14500 is because ive got a bunch of them that i dont use. the idea of using a single 18650 with a big honking spacer doesnt really appeal to me, BUT 3 x 14670 would be plenty of voltage and higher capacity with only 3 cells.....

4 14500s will not safely run a triple P7. You need at least 3 17670s to be safe or IMR chemistry cells.

i found some pre-made carriers for 3x14670 so i'll be going with that.
