Operates on 24-30VDC. Designed to drive this floodlight. The floodlight won't win any throw contests (it is, after all a floodlight, but a sufficiently crazy modder might be able to mod the fixture for throw (use a big fresnel lens, perhaps) or coax the ballst into driving a custom 400W HMI throw fixture.

That bulb is an HSR. The balast I mentioned is designed for HMI bulbs.

HSR, HMI and HTI are very similar ... the HMI and HTI will only run on an electronic ballast due to square-wave AC requirements....the HSR will run on either a magnetic or electronic ballast
