464 Naval Brass HDS Pre-Sale

Candle Power Flashlight Forum

Help Support CPF:

You know...I already own a couple of $50 HDS flashlights. I have it on good authority that Chris Reeve also sells knives in the $40 to $50 range. Paper work never hurt. Just sayin.

Yeah a couple years back Burt Foster made me a custom hunting knife for about 100 bucks. I feel ya. [emoji3]

When I left, there were still 22 sold leaving 20 available until Monday morning.

If you do a similar count down Brass launch once you have the product in hand it will sell out fast. This will work especially well if you change the advertising on CPF and temporarily substitute in the Brass light for the Aluminum light highlighting limited quantity. After the initial 20 or so owners create a buzz on CPF with pictures and reviews, add an awareness building countdown to product launch - maybe two to three weeks - and it will be done.

This will work because, as you know, many HDS owners like immediate gratification -- light in hand within a few days of purchase....

(In my opinion, this is a customer type segment (mindset) distinct and different than the pre-buy and wait for the light to be made segment)

Very true. Most people want near instant gratification. It's also the reason I try to get leather orders out within a week. Nobody likes to wait.
Will be interesting to see what the count is on Monday.

I haven't told the wife how much my lights cost, but not sure she would believe a $40-50 Chris Reeves Sebenza... especially when she knows i don't have cheap taste

She knows i'm crazy and have a bit into lights and what not but we have been together for 17.5 yrs now and has learned my bad habits. Luckily she does not get on me too much anymore.
As long as I keep her happy, she goes easy on me, lol

My wife just knows I sold a few folding knives, that were just taking up drawer space, to help pay for the new flashlight. So doesn’t know the value of the knives or how many I sold, so she doesn’t know how much it is costing. Fortunately, she just cares that I have many for the things that we need and that some money gets put away towards savings.
