Most of these seem to have neck switches, some of which take a second or so to activate. So far I know streamlight's 4aa propolymax, and eagletac (3 or 6aa only?) claims their neck switch is forward w/momentary, but if anyone familiar with this format can help me get a list started of the other 4aa's with momentary/forward click action as must haves, I'll sort through them according to my own otherwise negotiable prefs:

-tailstands
-no blink modes, battery carriers, pwm, usb ports
-as few modes as possible
-high cri

The Coast HP14 is 4AA, very bright and has a lifetime guarantee. I forget if its a forward or reverse tail clicky. Has three modes, no flash/strobe. Unfortunately it does use a battery carrier.

YEah it is forward/momentary. Fenix has a couple too, but they along with so far all 4xAA's with a forward clicky have battery carriers:

Streamlight propolymax 4aa
Coast HP14
Fenix LD41
Fenix E40 (discontinued)
