4C battery holder

A holder for 4 C cells in series are findable almost anywhere at low cost. Does anyone have any experience with them or know of a high quality one.
Is there any advantage to the 2x2 as opposed to the 4x1 models?

the advantage in a 2x2 would be less spring pressure needed to maintain battery connection between cells in upright/moving conditions. Having 2 sets of cells divides the spring pressure by half. Also it makes for a shorter length in projects. I have 2 6C cell holders sitting around new here that are 3x2, I would have to see a 6x1 holder.

By 4x1 I meant all batteries parallel to each other along the long axis as opposed to
