If conditions permit, you might try physically moving back a bit and partially zooming in with the camera. There's usually a sweet spot in the lens zoom range that will eliminate the barrel distortion in some of the shots.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try that next time.

Actually I have not been able to detect a pre-flash. I'm not sure what's going on there, because I do remember it being mentioned as an issue (albeit a minor one due to its brevity), but I have been looking for it and did not find it.

I have the two modes set to med and turbo. If it's set to come on with med, then it'll flash turbo then go to med. But the color is perfect so I think I would rather deal with it than have a bad color.

I bought the 123*2 version of this light. Very happy with it. Small, lightweight and bright. Very nice for EDC.

Sounds like you have the Med on the tightened head position. Try swapping the Med and Turbo modes around. If the Turbo is set with the head tightened and Med loosened, then it shouldn't preflash at all unless you change the setting of the head when the light is off.

Unfortunately no, except by closing your eyes.
Sorry, but that's not exactly correct...see my post just above and make the changes to the settings and no more preflash except if you have the light set to Moonlight on loose. In that case you will get a very mild preflash from the Low output before it drops to Moonlight, but it's so mild it doesn't really cause any issues.

Thanks for posting bfksc. I never tried setting the loosened mode higher than the tightened mode before I returned the light, so I am unable to verify this, but it is good to know.

What about the beam's temperature?

This light seems wonderful, but I don't like much the fact that LEDs tend to be on the cool end of the spectrum.

How does this one perform on the colour temperature's field?

No, it will probably still pre flash.

I get preflash no matter what I do. I can have turbo for right and moonlight/low for loose. Have it loose, use the moonlight/low, turn it off, set it down, come back, pick it up, turn it on...pre flash.

I still love the light though.
