5-Watt Luxeon Stars "Not Available" at Future Active. 10 weeks Wait!

I tried ordering 2 5-Watt Luxeon Stars LXHL-LW5C from Future Active. It looks like they expect a 10 week back order before they even get these is stock.
Just letting you guys know before you put together that group purchase. Anyone tried getting samples from the manufacture direct?

Awww... crud. Well, I'll still keep the list going for anyone interested. Backorder or not, the discount will be good for all. Unless of course, Peter decides to do the 5W kit - and he's hopefully got an inside fasttrack as a manufacturer to getting some.
The order list will also serve as a good CPF demand indicator for Peter.

If the 10 week wait is because Lumileds is taking its time to do a good ramp-up for the production of the 5Ws, then its time worth waiting. I'd be really disappointed if my $36 LED was off-color for whatever reason - no more pee-greens for me

So then, the group buy list lives on as a demand indicator and I'll be keeping tabs.

Hello Carbonium,

The salesperson I spoke with told me to check back with him Tuesday He didn't know when they would be available. He did say someting to the effect of them wanting to have an idea of how many to make. I suppose they want everybody to place an order and send them money, and then have us wait 2 1/2 months?
