I recently built a 2D mag using WA1111 and FM's 6AA adapter. With 6 ,2700 Sanyos, hot off the charger, the voltage sags immediately to just over 6.4 volts even with the tail cap modified.

I have just recieved 6 Elite 1700 cells purchased to use with the 5761 bulb.
What are my chances , flash or not ........<g>

I think that you may instaflesh the bulb on start-up...
why don't you use a NTC?
it'll soft start the light without instaflahing.

Thanks for the reply. I tried the Elite's with a WA1111 and instantly flashed.

I now realize that all AA re chargables are not the same and as the 5761 has a narrower voltage window, yes....I will have to order up some NTCs.

I used 12x 2700 sanyos, 6s2p and would flash the bulb and then that was the first use of the SL12 1R010 NTC, made by ametherm from Newark.com. Then I switched to the Powerex 2700 which I think are better

After they, the pack broke in the voltage saged enough It would not insta flash and I could see it was dimmer so I no longered needed the NTC to run it and I removed it. The soldered pack is hard wired to ground and the + terminal inside a Mag Charger. That is very low internal resistance. I charge it with a smart charger hooked to the cradle. Your pack will change with use.

Yes.....my Sanyo 2700 hot off the charger sag immediately and do not flash an WA 1111, but the stronger Elites 1700 flash. Have 24 NTC (SL12-1R010) on there way to experiment with . Appreciate your many posts on the subject.

NO promises, but I have a manufactured in the US interested in making a special NTC for our type of CPF ues. If he accepts the design there maybe 1000 available. I will NOT be the supplier, too much hassle. That would be nice, a perfect fit.
