so i felt a little ambitious thinking of replacing the magmini reflector altogether with 3 white led's tucked inside. but then i decided to try a different reflector altogether.

and coming out to test this badboy, i ran 12volts w/ battery pack which blew one .. or two leds. it's all black if you look straight in the LED bubble

:(

i'm going to sleep now. tomorrow is another day

anyone out there offer custom OC flasherlighters ? if so i want to see some of your work available

LEDs are 3Vs each...if you want to run 12V wire them in series, what were you thinking wiring them in parallel?

unfortunately yes, i head a faint "pop" and that was that.
i tried a string of ledsx4 and that didnt work, so i thought parallel would be better, just didnt think that 12v would blow my work of art :(

its odd isn't it...a 3V LED can be driven up to 10V without popping....you'd think the extra 2V makes any difference:(

pretty nice job on the soldering, what did you use to connect the dots?
I'm going to make some LED clusters of my own and been looking for something I can use aside from stripping all the insulation off a single stranded hookup wire

it pretty much was a single piece of hookup wire .. or something, twisting wire would have caused a hassle expecially when soldering . well with my small hands at least with when dealing with LEDs. the negative ends formed a "triangle" wire shape that was easy to control when sticking to the cardboard. and a "circlular" shape was made for the + ends, this too was easy when the LEDs are sitting still after sticking them with a glue gun.

i've decided that this project sucks and that i am going to piece together a maglite mini AA but am stuck at the bezel part. i want something fancy
