I have trying to find a couple to 5mm Red Leds of high output to mod a couple of fenix E0 and have not had much luck in finding a source. Thought maybe someone in here might have heard of one/

I got a bunch of red nichia CS LED and are very nice. They are a little too bright for indoor use, but dim enough for outdoor use. you could go with the DS or AS for dimmer indoor use

Keep in mind that most red LED run on lower voltage than white LED, so the circuit board might fry the red led.

Also check the polarity before installing. For reds, the cup lead is often the anode (+). For white(blue) LEDs, it's the cathode (-).

Generally speaking the polarity identifier on a 5 or 3mm LED is the following: The anode is dictated by a circular edge of the LED package and the Cathode is the flat side of the package. Think of the base of the LED right before the leads exit as a circle with a flat dimple, the flat dimple is the cathode lead (also cut shorter usually) and the longer lead that has a no indentation is the anode.

For *SOME* 660nm red LEDs, the longer lead is the cathode; so lead length is not a 100% reliable way to identify the polarity of an LED.:poof:
