That means I'll be shipping them to those in the 5W group buy this week!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I got the idea from some CPFer's that were using Write Right (however that is spelled?). But Scotch tape is so much cheaper.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">This was a group buy for the 5 watt Luxeon Star. Our price was $22/each. We started this buy way back in June. We never dreamed it would be this long. Some dropped out, as they had in fairly large orders, and I don't blame them for not waning their money tied up for 6 months. Others came in and picked up the orphaned 5W emitters. At this time there are no extras. Sorry.

You'll be seeing a lot of 5 watt modified flashlights in the near future.

I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for another group buy (or to see if someone lets one go). Not that I can really justify another LED

Can't wait to see all the new mods (hopefully some unique ones too!)

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Get some Scotch tape, the kind that says 'Invisible'. Put a piece over the face of the optics. Voila, a perfectly smooth beam, with all the grid bars gone.

White Luxeon Stars have some phosphorus material over the emitter, which eliminates the grids. You do not see an image of the emitter in white 1 watt because of this.
