I've measured once one of those - it was called "Cree XR-E R2 - Zoom 240 lumens"

It'd have to pull at least 6W. How much runtime is that?

make that 8 W, but only if it's a top bin and is actively cooled with a very powerful thermal management system.
The claimed R5 bin (probably a lie as well, nobody would use such a high and expensive bin in a junk product like this) would require 9 W or more.

So with alkaline at 400 to 1000 mAh at 500 mA drain
and the drain being >9w/4.5v = >2A
you'd get less than 0.4/2 = 0.2 hr to 1/2 = 0.5 hr runtime, probably substantially less depending on the Peukert #.

Sicher!
