i checked whiteleds.com and he only has 5000mcd LED's if i'm not mistaken. i would love to find some 5600 or 6400mcd if possible for use with mini-mag conversion with 3 N cells. anyone know where to buy small quantities? also, anyone know the runtime on 3 N cells? would love to find out. thanks.

I THINK (ok, I realize that is a dangerous thing) that that is probably just a typo on his site, and that they are 5600mcps.

Unless he got ahold of some that just didn't make the grade at Nichia. (which COULD explain why they are so inexpensive.)

I've dealt with him several times in the past, and he always seemed to be a very honest guy. Email him and ask for clarification.

yeah, never thought of that. well, i emailed him so we'll see. he does have really good prices and i like that you can order only how many you want. i'll keep my fingers crossed.

I talked to this fellow on the phone. The leds are 5600 or maybe even higher cause the company has been updating their leds so it is possible to get a higher one but no way to know for sure. 5600 minimum. I ordered several different angles to experiment with. I just got into this led flashlight thing.

I just upgraded the LED in my Photon 3 to one claiming to be more than 8000mcd typical with a max. of about 11000 mcd. Sounds like the S ranked Nichia but I am told it is not.

I have no test equipment but the light output is truly amazing. Light is slightly blue and casts a beam across the room. Even as I sit here typing this with outside light through the window and the lights on and still I can see the beam on the white wall about 10 feet away.

Need to see if I can get more of these things.

If you look closely at the Website, the typed 5000 has what appears to be a handwritten correction to 5600 in one place.

In any event, I am awaiting 10 of them.
