6V Haiku XP-G drive levels

Hi Don,

I've been doing some searching, but was not able to find the drive level of the 6V Haiku XP-G. Something in the back of my mind tells me it was either 650mA, or 1000mA. But, I could be wrong on both. Could you clarify?

That will be interesting to note. Been looking at a higher drive level for my Makai.

Hi Joel,
It is my questionable recollection that the drive level was somewhere around 750. I don't think I took it as high as 1000 but I could be wrong. I don't think I went that high until the XM-L hit the scene.

Thank you for your reply, Don. 750mA sounds good. I think you're right with the 1000mA. I recall the 6V Makai XM-L being driven at 1 Amp.

This is a question I had asked a few months ago and honestly I think it would have been helpful at the time to get a for sure answer. Please don't take this the wrong way but the answer I was given was 1200 mA. The 750 mA makes much more sense now because while the 6 volt light I had was brighter than the 3 volt light I own, it wasn't by much. 1200 mA would have been much brighter I think. Of course this was before I had put any thought into the GDuP as a replacement driver. Knowing what I know now I kinda wished I had kept the 6 volt Haiku which I sold because other than run time the output performance for me didn't justify keeping and using it since my 3 volt with RCR's was getting the same job done. I believe accurate info would have also been more helpful in my decisions. No worries but maybe this is something that can be investigated for a definitive answer? I would like to again someday score a 6 volt XP-G Haiku and soup it up.

Has anyone tried using a pair IMR16340 unprotected on a XPG 6v LE?
If so, did you observe better lumens or runtime?

I have used IMR16340 cells in my 6v haiku xpg. I didnt notice it being any brighter than With the black AW protected 16340s

The 6v xpg haiku does look a lot brighter and throws further compared to a 3v xpg haiku on RCR123.
I just thought that using IMRs may increase the intensity a bit more.
