After showing a co-worker my 2c ROP, he says he's got an old 7D Mag tube in his garage somewhere I could have. I told him about a mint in box 7D that sold on ebay for over $500, and he should try to sell his if he finds it.
He'd rather give it to me. :D
Since I have no desire to actually use it, how much do you think I could get for it? (Apparently tube only without head and unknown condition at this point)

Either way, regardless of condition, I'd get it, you can always find a tail and head, even the switches can be found on here or on zbattery.com. Great find!

To me, buying a 6D is boarder-line ridiculous. I bought one for my dad because he said he wanted a flashlight to rest on your shoulder when you hold it.

The length of a 7D must be around 22 inches!!!

And paying $500 for a 7D or 5C is outrageous.

Whats stopping somebody from lathing an identical 7D tube. The only difference is the ID # and the USA patend. I guess legitimacy is a high value, but still.... $500?

Congrats on your find though.

well, it isn't a find until it's actually found...he's a packrat with a stuffed garage.

Perhaps because they stopped making them 25 or so years ago that lends a bit of rarity.

you don't even have to do that, FM still has some extensions, others might also have them. you can build 20d if you really want to.

i added 88mm extension to my 3d mag to fit 4 32650 protected cells, it turned out to be 4.5d. with glo toob flash cap and 2'5 in throw master, it is like 5,5d mag lengthwise.

How did that turn out? The four 32650's... I know DX sells them for $20 a piece. Are they dangerous? What was the runtime on whatever LED(s) you where running? I would love to see pics

I know this isn't really the appropriate thread, I was really close to buying them, and would like to know more info

i bought them at kd, dx sells unprotected blue cells, mine are black.
i run 50w halogen bulb with them, runtime about an hour or so. i like the results so far.
they are dangerous, in the right hands. lol

People want these for their collector value, not intended as a EDC.

I bought my used 7D Mag for about $45 off eBay two or three years ago. I've seen used ones go in the $50-75 range in the past.

Hmmm, that's not too bad. Who knows? Maybe I end up with another/better light with the proceeds.

I've heard some countries have bizarre restrictions on weapons/self defense, etc....I wonder what kind of trouble such a club of a light would get someone into?
