i ordered from their site when they had the 8x's. i came across something else and tried to cancel my order. finally after a week of trying to contact them i get a response, "what order?" after 3 or 4 emails i was told it would be cancelled.

another week passes and i get an email asking me if i'd like to substitute for a dc charger because they are out of ac chargers?? i responded that i cancelled that order and let them know how i felt about their "customer service". i also asked some questions. i got no response.

i thought i'd give them one more chance since they have stinger's and i've been kicking around picking one up. i send another email asking about the condition of the light and why i got no response to my complaint. i get a snippy response and a generic answer to my specific question. she claimed she answered my complaint, she did not. also excused the behavior with "i'm a one person operation". i think i'll pass on them in the future.

just wanted to share my experience with fellow light addicts.

I'm having the same problem with them. I got the 8X for $60, but as of today, I don't believe they've shipped. They took my money via PayPal on 2-9. Then on 2-11, they sent an email asking if I wanted the AC or DC charger. I replied the same day. After 11 or 12 days with nothing showing up, I emailed asking how he had shipped. Received a reply that he never received my 2-11 reply so he hasn't shipped anything. I've sent 4 more emails with no acknowledgement of any of them. I'm afraid I'll have to rank this place right up there with Botech.

txwest, i'm sorry for your trouble. look into getting your money back through paypal. that is unacceptable! good luck and let us know how it turns out.
 
Actually, since I made that post a short time ago, I've gotten 2 emails from them. He says he'll ship it tomorrow. It may not be as much bad intent as inability to take care of business. It did take suggesting that they return my money to get them to say they'll ship. I'll repost if I get it, but I doubt I'll buy from them again, even at a really good price. TX
 
txwest, thanks for the update. i was just thinking about the stinger. good price but i'm not going there!.....again!

I did finally get my 8X from surplus911. It's in almost new condition. It's the old CN300 (not a rapid, smart charger) but since I already have the CN400, it's a backup. The charger & battery were still new in the bag. I was a little concerned about the battery, as when I put it in, the light came on for about 1 second & went out. I don't know how old it is & since it's never been charged, I thought it may not hold a charge. But when I got home, I put it in the CN400, put a good charge on it, turned it on & let it run for 30 min. The light got a little dimmer than the 8NX with a full charge, but was still very usuable. After sitting for 10 min, it's almost back to original brightness. I'm going to run it down the rest of the way & recharge. It should be fine. So if you go to order from surplus911, you'll probably get a good product for the $$, but be prepared to wait & send a lot of emails. He didn't ship for 3 weeks after he took my money on PayPal, & that was after 5-6 emails to him, several unanswered. TX

Edit: I just finished the run test. Made another 18 min of usuable light giving me 48 min total. Considering they only advertise 50 min & this was the batteries 1st charge, I'ld say it's ok.
