A Q for Ra Clicky owners! (have you had this problem)

Ah, I see what you mean now - I somehow didn't realize you were talking about the 10 sec timer. So, your light doesn't have the 10 sec timer when using Click+PHR - hey, can I have your light 😛

I liked the idea of the timer, but I can live without it.

I programmed my light in daylight and I just stepped down each level, because it is dark now... I don't know the modes though.

So, next thing to do is counting the modes, if I really have the 140 Lumen or not!

It is more likely, given the reports here, that his light isn't latching onto burst with the click phr.

My light sometimes does the same thing.

This is going to turn out to be a battery level detection issue at its core.

Just had an Email from Henry, Seems I need to wait for him to get my light back so he can find out what is going wrong. It seems that until the problem is found and sorted there is little point in getting a replacement at this time as others have displayed this flashing when put to burst as well.

Thanks for your kind words fella's!
Yeah just have to wait now, your both right in saying that it is a great light.
It's the perfect size and has the best UI to control it. Long enough to fit in your hand yet slim enough to slip into your pocket. Very well made too!
I have considered a few others as a replacement, the Novatac 120p, the LiteFlux LX3 I think it's called and the Dereelight CH1L V4 M-CE. But as they say in 'Little Britain' I Want ThaT One!
I think the Dereelight will be on it's way soon after though! ;-)

Go for the LF3XT.

Two UI's -- simple CUI and programable FUI with battery voltage report under load. Ringless Cree beam with cool tint. All this for $60.

No one has reported any problems.

I did consider that light as I said but I love the way the UI on the Ra Clicky let's you directly go to ANY setting without having to cycle though them one at a time.
Also I think that once you have held a Ra Clicky in your hand, played with it for a while and carried it in your pocket nothing else is going to compare for EDC.
It is just so well made and works so well. ( yeah I know, not mine but I will wait!)
The LF3XT has had some very good reveiws though, looking forward to selfbuilts thoughts when he gets his.

hey kam,
i know how you feel when you get the perfect light/ torch, and then have to send it back for a minor fault. i've been without my NT now for a week and once you have experienced the perfect light nothing can really fill the void. you try to get by with your other lights but you just can't get exited about them like you use to. they are still as good as they ever were but since you know better......:sigh:

My Clicky will return to Henry on monday, to get me a new lens where I partly destroyed the coating, and to resolve the flickering issue, which apears from time to time, unlogical behavior just like others reported.

Well, let's hope everything wil be allright soon! :broke:

Greets,

Henk

Is that filckering when you go to high, or at the lower levels?
Was it expensive to post back? Oh and next time, you must fight the urge to take it all apart! OK! LOL.

It flickered sometime going on burst and it aso seemed sometimes that the burst didn't step down again...

I'll never touch that bezel again when it comes back! 🤢

I still don't know the price, can tell you next monday. I'd rather pay a little it ore and be sure that it arrives where it should. My wife works for the luxembourgish postal services, she always makes me nervous. :sigh:

When mine flashed or flickered when put to burst it would not step down either.
Wow if she works there you could get 'Busted!' LOL.
If she see's the insured value of it! 🙂

Hope you get it sorted soon mate, Happy New Year to You!

Kam,
Oh you silly boy! Telling Henk not to open his light's front end is very bad advice. :nana: The fact that he used alcohol to clean his lens, was not why the A/R coating delaminated. I have been cleaning the A/R coated lenses of my lights with alcohol from the beginning of time, with no loss of the A/R coating.

Consider that a light may have fingerprints or dust on the inside of the lens, and/or dust on the reflector. We as bone fide flashaholics MUST do whatever is necessary to make things right! Agreed?

What would be your "punishment" if the wifesky finds out the price of your Clicky? Sleep with your dog Lars in the doghouse? Sleep on the living room coach with the heat turned off? Cook for yourself from then on? Be showed the door with only your Clicky in hand? Or could there be worse?

Just an update to report nothing at all! LOL.
Still waiting for a Yay or Nay to go ahead and reorder.
Dam this Xmas season with slow parcel movement back to Henry!
My money is burning away in my Paypal account, Must resist spending it on other lights! Must stay away from the cursed 'buy now' button.

Hear, hear - I do this with all my new lights because I always discover a dust grain on the inside that simply must be removed  😛

Okay, a little update:
Recently I could by a Cgt from Uniquetitanium.com (BTW: highly recommend :thumbsup🙂.
That means, I have all three versions - C, Cn and Cgt. :nana:
Now to the point that may interest you.
The C and the Cn are working flawless since they arrived here.
The Cgt (the last one that I have bought) is showing the same, or nealy the same behaviour that Kamakazikev24's flashlight does.
So I have three light's and of course I was curious, what would happen if I mix up the parts.
Result (short version):
I could, and still can, reproduce this strange behaviour with the C version, the Cgt, but the Cn simply stays on - no reaction when clicking or pressing the button.
BUT only one battery compartment produces this behaviour when screwed together with the lights' head. The other two compartments work flawless with EACH of the tree heads.
So to me it SEEMS there is nothing wrong with the flashlights itself only the battery compartment has a bug.
I have already told Henry about this. He sends a new battery compartment to veryfy that it solves the problem completely - I don't doubt it will.
