Heaps of options but I'll mention just one.
My favourite small thrower in 1x18650 format is the Surefire EDC2-DFT.

1. Thrunite Catapult
2. Emisar D1K SFT40 21700 Mini Pocket Thrower
3. Acebeam L17
4. Acebeam L19
5. Acebeam K70
6. Nitecore MH25 Pro
7. Malkoff Hound Dog Super Flashlight

There are numerous other reputable manufacturers out there that I haven't named. Nevertheless, these initial suggestions should get you started down the rabbit hole of high-output thrower flashlights. Start your search and come back to this thread when you've identified one or more lights that interest you, and the mambers willl happily provide opinions and feedback on their use of your proposed purchases.

Bon chance.

Dear sirs. my dereelight DBS 's threadi is damaged and I can't properly lock the battery ring. I'm requesting the members' help about suggestion of purchaisng another thrower looking like the Dereelight.
I use it for nocturnal mammal search and survey at night so that it must throw at least 250m emitting a narrow beam but not as narrow as a laser...

Using 1x18650 battery gave me enough range with about 2 hours run. but 2x18650 may be better...

Any recommendation would be great.

THANKS YOU !!

Welcome! Anyone who is out studying nocturnal mammals is a friend of mine;-)

250 meters is quite a lot of distance. intl-outdoor has the Noctigon D11, which will allow you to choose an LED that provides good color rendering (SST20 4000K or 719A 4000K). The Noctigon K1 looks to have emitters that produce more light but the hi CRI are in a warmer color temperature. Both of these flashlights use 21700 size batteries; very nice and worth it for increased runtime/brightness.

Consider taking your time and getting something right for your application. It is ok to experiment with different models.

I just have to go into my backyard at night to do that but I'm more inclined to throw stuff at them.

No shortage of ringtail and brushtail possums in my backyard. The latter growing to the size of a small dog and won't hesitate to come right up to you. You definitely wouldn't want one on you and you certainly don't want them living in your roof.
I've hand fed both types before but I wouldn't recommend getting a brushtail too comfortable with you.
Most interesting thing I've seen possum wise was a mother ringtail with a baby on her back fighting a cockatoo. This wasn't at night though, it was the afternoon. I have no idea what the cockatoo wanted with the possums but it was acting crazy and really having a go at them. They were quite high up in the canopy and the fight continued for quite a while and was still going as I left.

If you're considering a 2 18650 light, why not a 21700 light?
Nitecore MH25 Pro has 771 yards of throw and 3300 lumens. 21700 cells are up to 6 amps now for the best ones (light comes with 5300 mAh battery) that's close to the power of 2 18650s.

If not, Nitecore MT2C Pro is 1800 lumens, 568 yards of throw, takes an 18650, and is $40 cheaper ($60 vs. $100).
Comes with 3600 mAh battery. Best 18650s are up to 4 amps now.

Nitecore's UHi 20 l.e.d.s are hard to beat for throw. That company makes them purpose built for flashlights. The round die, vs. square for all the rest optimizes throw in the reflector and they are very efficient.

I don't have any rock-solid advice, because I build what I need myself. But ...... Being in the dark with all the creepy crawlers I suggest you to buy a light with a slightly warmer tint, or higher CRI, to help you better see all those things in the bushes. A 6500K emitter tends to turn what you're seeing more or less into a black-and-white picture.
Second, look up the suggested lights in the reviews of our member @selfbuilt. The numbers in the brochure sometimes won't even last 30 seconds, so it might be wise to do some research into a thrower with a longer sustainable amount of light.

Dear all

I'm so happy! so many thanks to you candlepower fans! There are so much to lurn out of your messages. I really appreciate it . Actually My need is to search mammals at night for sensus and survey. Distance is more likely 100/150m. So sorry to have mentionned 250...long lasting rechargeable batteries. And white narrow beam. PLease be all welcome for any topic/question or any assisatnce I can do for you guys (but you probably need few from a poor lonely french guy...) If you wish to visit, let me know.

Dear sir. Glad to hearing about an aussi possom enthousiat. These mammals look so cute...You'r lucky to be in the position to oberve them and study them right at your groundyard...It makes me jalous. So you don't really need to get spotting this folk at night and then you do not own any thrower?

Dear dude! So many thanks to you. I do appreciate your reply. May be it does not need to be that powerfull and range 150m may be enough. I can't afford spending more than 150 buks. The Dereelight I got from China reached me ok and at fair postal fare. From USA my be not that easy for a poor strange french guy...Any way, yes, you're absolutely right: I will look into this ans search the items's specs online and compare. Very happy to hearing about your suggestions. Chears!

Hi sir! Many thanks to you. I appreciate it. Yes, it might too powerfull and I would be satisfied with up to 150 meters range in order to get a smaller throw, and cheaper on. BEst regards

Sofirn if22a?
I have been pleasantly surprised at the reach/size ratio.
DEar sir, yes, I'm sorry. I would have been more short and just request what is according to you the close relative to the Dereelight I had. DBS. It was perfect to me.
