A2 Head w/ stripped LED ring holes

Just received my brand new A2 yesterday and was going to remove the LED ring to scuff the LED's. To my surprise two of the three holes are stripped. There's enough meat there to remove the screw, but when I (gently) re-insert the screw it doesn't grab. Seems like it was horsed when the light was assembled. Anyone else have this problem? I'm going to contact SF today and see what their take on it is.

Just talked to SF. True to form they are fixing the problem. My replacement bezel is being sent.

I had an A2 with one stripped screw hole on the head. It should be replaced since you have two holes stripped. I decided not to fuss with mine because the pressure from the head being screwed down is sufficient for conductivity with the two remaining screws. The screws do provide an electrical path though. If you feel the light is not operating properly, give Surefire a call.

Two of three holes in mine were stripped upon receipt. It hasn't caused any usability issues, so I've never worried about it.

If you like the amount of OP on the reflector I'd keep it.
If you would like more or less OP then call them and send it back and see what the lottery brings you. It's always a toss up. I had one that looked like heavy stipple that was big on flood and I also had one that was a VLOP and threw very well. I kept the thrower and sanded the LED's.

As far as function goes all you really need is 1 but I personally would feel better with 2 screws working. If you like the amount of throw VS spill your head has then I would make sure the LED's were just the way I wanted them then put a tiny dot of epoxy in a spot or two to fix it in place.

Arctic alumina in very small amounts and in just the right place as to not interrupt conductivity would do pretty well. It will hold tight and is easy to remove later if need be.
