You all probably already know this, but I just found out. Wal-Mart has EverActive Alkaline AA's 24 for $6.96. That's the best price I've seen without buying by the skid.

Walmart's prices vary from store to store. I shop in about 7 different stores. I questioned a manager and he explained that their prices are based on direct competion. Let us know how you like those cells. I've never used them, but I'll check out prices next time I'm in. Thanks for the tip.

I've been getting batteries at Costco for years...$8 I beleive it was for 48 of them. (16 cents each) It has been a while since I bought them because I only use NiMh now...but I'm pretty sure they still sell them for that price.

My local 7/Eleven has a 4 pack of Duracell for $6.99 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

(fresh, too. they don't expire until 2004)

Costco/Kirkland brand are 48 in a brick for 8.99 by me, which equates to .1875 each. They are just as good as name brand when I ran them up against the two giant brands.
Also, lets not forget RedCells, available still at my local CompUSA, a brick of 40 for 9.99 or roughly .25 each. I use those as well as sometimes the local Costco can be quite a "zoo" during the summer months and at CompUSA the lines are much more bearable. But when I'm at Costco, I pick up at least a brick or two. Gotta feed those MadMax and BadBoys somehow /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
