Guys,
I went through all 7 pages but couldnt find comparison of AA between Sanyo Eneloop & GP ReCyKo+...

I would like to know what are the major differences between them apart from price. As GP ReCyKo+ is slighty cheaper than Sanyo Eneloops.

I have seen many using Eneloops without complaint, but how ReCyKo+ fare?

I will be using them primarily for my Fenix, Mini Mag & EagleTac flashlights.

I dont mind on cosmetic wise...

Thanks a bunch!

PS : I tried posting a new thread earlier but couldnt find it, hence re-post.

I got my Eneloops at a cheaper price than Recyko+, about US$1.50 cheaper for a pack of 2 (retail) :nana:
Both are good cells, I'm using them in various flashlights and electronic devices, ReCyko+ does gives a slightly longer runtime. No, this is not by reading the cell's label... :D
I do however experienced failure to charge for the ReCyko+ AAA cell (after draining the cell to ~0.9V), that same cell was later resurrected by Maha C9000 using the R&A feature  so moral of the story... go get yourself a good programmable charger (like C9000), your cells (regardless of brand) will thank you for it...

Of the non-eneloop made LSD batteries, the GP are the best of the bunch.

I have quite a few of both and I'd describe them as "a close second, close enough that you won't notice unless you're running tests and writing charts".

The Recyko do have slightly higher capacity, but that can be explained by them being slightly fatter than an eneloop. I don't know what the official specification is for a AA battery, but whatever it is, GP pushed it to the limit with the Recyko. They fit in everything, but are definitely tighter in many devices.

Another huge advantage (I find) of the Recyko is that they actually look like rechargeables, eneloops don't. Fine for you, but not so much if family get hold of them. I lost 4 eneloops once at a wedding due to them being disposed of. Apparently me saying "give them back to me at the end of the day, they're rechargeable" didn't outweigh "well they're plain and white, probably disposable".

I'd say it comes down to this. Eneloops are first choice, no question there. However, part of that is based on availability. If you can get Recykos, and at a good price, then they will serve you well, certainly better (IMO) that any of the other non-eneloop LSD batteries.

Unforgiven,
I have checked on the Battery Shootout Part I & II before but both of them couldnt tell me how they fare a 6 or 12 months down the road. Thanks tho!

RookieDaddy & Niconical,
Thanks for the advise. The Maha charger costs a bomb so i doubt i will be getting it unless i have close to 4 dozen rechargeables then investing in it would be reasonable.

Seems like GP's a pretty good batt although i heard of more ppl using Eneloop than ReCyKo+..

Still, thanks alot guys..least i know which one i would go for now.. :)
