If i order some lithium primary AA batteries from eBay that have generic casings, can anyone tell me how I can spot if they are fake?

What voltage should they be etc?

I have a volt meter, some AA torches I know the runtimes of, and thats about is as far as testing equipment goes...

Weight. Alkalines are heavy, lithiums are not.
Open cell voltage should be 1.7+ volts (off the top of my head)
Dissection/autopsy

One thing to keep in mind is that weight may offer a clue as to whether it is legitimately the chemistry you desire, but it will not tell you whether the cell itself is a quality cell. Perhaps you could buy two or three and have a little shootout where you compare them to Energizer L91 cells, which I think many folks would put forward as an example of a quality L91.

My Energizer L91s show 1.60V on 100mA discharge and 1.54V on 1,000mA discharge in a MH-C9000. It would be pretty difficult for a poor-quality imitation to hold up those kinds of voltages.

Thanks for the replys guys, if i get some i'll just check the voltage.

I dont have the ability to measure ma discharge with my current setup.

I would suggest putting a 1.5 ohm 5 watt resistor across the terminals and measuring voltage. Maybe do that for a few minutes.

I'm going to suggest that unmarked batteries from eBay are by definition fake :duh2:

Why would they end up being sold without labels on eBay unless there was something wrong with them?
