In my AA bike lights I tried to use NiMH rechargables but the ones I have would not fit. They seemed to be slightly too big in diameter. Is there a brand that is known to be a better match sizewise to alkaline AA's? All the alkalines I have tried seem to fit fine. I don't want to have to buy each brand to test them out. The bike lights are both Cateye. Thanks.

I've found that AA Sanyo Eneloop batteries are small enough diameter to fit in my minimag lights, whereas Energizer 2300mAh NiMH batteries are too big in diameter and get stuck in the barrel. Maybe the Eneloops would work for you.

I just used a dial caliper to take some measurements for you:

RayOVac Alkaline AA .555 dia
Sanyo Eneloop AA .560 dia
Kodak 2500 NiMH AA .562
Energizer 2300 NiMH AA .565
Powerex 2700 NiMH AA .565

Hope that helps.

Good to know Scott! I've never had a problem like that with any of my NIMH cells. I do know that I really do like the Sanyo Eneloop batteries!!
