AA NiMH Gone up in price?

I can't find any duracells 1800 NiMH on ebay anymore for cheap. They all are like 2.00 a peice plus shipping. Back a few months ago I saw them on ebay and after shipping they were like 1.20 a peice!

I need 12 of these suckers or any other good trustable rated 1800 cell... Any ideas? Or anyone bought bulk and could sell me a few.

www.batterystation.com/cpf.htm has NexCell 2100Mah batteres for $1.50 each. I have 4 of them and they lasted me a long time on a recent trip to Florida (run them in a Canon Powershot A10.) I estimate about 500-600 pictures taken with display on and 2 hours of reviewing on the small LCD with a lot of deleting and re-taking (trip was 5 days, these NiMH lasted 4 days.) There was a battery shoot out somewhere and these batteries are not the bst like Powerex but held their own, rated at like 1856 mAh or something around there.

If you live near a Sam's club then the Energizer 2100Mah NiMH might be a good choice. Think under $20 for a 8 pack or so. I am not sure about the price, but I read somewhere on this forum they look like Sanyo build.

There are other batteries out there (Sanyos, Lenmar, PowerEx, etc. etc.) but I have not tried them. I currently use NexCell's and like them. My next purchase on batteries in NiMH rechargable form may be either Energizer 2100's or Powerex 2300's.

that's still a lot more plus you gotta add shipping...
The specials on ebay were like (12 batts $ + shipping $) / 12 = $1.2/batt!

I guess I'm out of luck. I knew I should of jumped on those deals but then I got rid of my 5watter.

get sanyos from batterystation =) 2 bucks a piece for 2100mah AA's. they stack up to the 2250 powerex, it lost by a tiny margin to them

for this project I don't need the best batts or anything. 1800 would be fine. It's not even for a white light! I think I saw Nexcell 1800 on ebay though for cheap. I'll double check. I assume they'd be close to the duracells in advertised capcity..
