A friend of mine, who also has and loves his Streamlight Stylus, told me that Rat Shack and Circuit City now carry the AAAA batteries. I also heard that Office Depot carries them.

The Stylus is the only thing I know of that uses them, so I am surprised that these stores are carrying them. To my knowledge, they DON'T carry the Stylus.

My question is:
Does anyone know of other products that use the AAAA?

Thanks.

I have heard of some electronic things useing them but havent seen any myself

Funny you should post this- I was just thinking of posting this little tip earlier today (well, actually earlier yesterday now--

)

Here is a real cheap source for AAAA batteries: Rip open (don"t cut yourself

) an EverActive 9V alkaline cell (two pack- $2.67 at Walmart) There are six AAAA cells in each 9V- so you get a dozen of 'em for under three bucks. Better than $1.50 each from R-S!!

I saw a very small pocket sized digital Multi-Meter a couple of weeks ago that used a AAAA.

And speaking of the Stylus- A friend of mine got two of them (Blue LED)in the mail today as "a free gift" in some kind of promotion. He offered to give me one- Guess I should have taken it and asked who was giving them away -- Too bad I was in a hurry and said "No thanks - I'll make my own"--- D'OH!

(He owns a couple Jewelry stores, so maybe you have to buy a pound of gold or diamonds to get them)

These batteries are often used in higher priced (over $30) laser pointers.
At one time I had one of these lasers, but got rid of it because nobody in town sold batteries for it (not even the sharper image where I bought the infernal thing!) and it was before I first got on the internet.

My ZIPPO lighter, flashlight, insert uses AAAA batteries couldnt find them in a local store (didnt look that hard) but as it says above I found six in a 9V batt, on my second try, first try had small clear plastic blocks stacked together. I'll never learn, if I dont take it apart.

I`ve found that it`s only the Alkaline 9 volt batteries that have AAAA-like cells inside. Zinc and Lithium ones have funny little rectangular cells in.
Beware though- I`ve found that often the "button" end of them is negative not positive as you`d expect.

the 3 plastic blocks are what I found in a lithium 9 volt battery...

Silviron ... my friend ... let me share some worldly wisdom with you ...

If anyone asks if they can try out their new .45 caliber hollow-points on you ........the answer is ......... NO!

If anyone asks if you would like to bob for apples in their septic tank ......... the answer is ...............NO!

If your Proctologist says, "This won't hurt a bit ... bend over" .............the answer is ...........NO!

But, if someone says, "I just got 2 new Stylus LED lights for free, would you like to have one?" .............the answer is .........YES!!! ........YES I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE ONE! .......THE ANSWER IS YES, YES, YES!!!

Did you forget, that above all else in life, (repeat after me.......) "I AM A FLASHAHOLIC"

Just joking with you.
Man, I wish I could count the number of times I did something like that, then walked around for the next week kicking myself in the A#$.

Hey, call him and tell him you changed your mind (plead "insanity") hehe

Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 mosquitos???

...and WHY didn't he set out some Roach Motels while he was at it?!?!?

Free Stylus. I could never have refused the offer, even if the product had been used.

Answer to question 1: Noah didn't have to swat those 2 mosquitoes because, in their infancy, mosquitoes live in WATER.

Answer to question 2: Come on, they say a cockroach can live through a nuclear war, so what's a little water gonna do?

LOL. This is the kind of stuff that keeps this forum from ever getting too boring. Hehe.

I have a little pocket siren I bought for my wife which is for personal protection that is so loud it truly hurts and disorients you. It's called a "sound mate" and uses 4 aaaa's. It's the only other thing I have ever seen that uses them.

As mentioned just opened up an Enerjiser Adv ForM and found 6xAAAA inside. The +ve and -ve terminals are opposites. Also the same 123A can be found in camera battery 2CR5. Be careful of the brands. Great advises form great people in the forum.

Let me guess... you had one "pop" on you, splattering gooey hot battery poop all over the walls and on your clothes?

I'm a bit reluctant to do it myself, but more because I don't have the tools to do it with rather than being worried about the battery crapping all over the workbench.

Without the right tools, the battery is almost certain to pop.

Alkaline? I didn't have any problems with the Energizer and Duracell 9V alkalines. They had 6 AAAA batts inside. It was that blasted Lithium 9V that leaked slime all over my desk.
