About to order: these parts will all lego together, correct?

In the next day or two I'm going to be putting in an order for my first "real" lights.

I plan on getting two lights, a Quark Mini AA and a Quark Turbo AA2. I also plan on running lithium's in both daily. I would greatly appreciate if someone could check over my order and make sure everything is ok.

Light 1:

Quark Turbo 2 AA
18650 Battery Tube
Turbo Flat Battery Tailcap
1x AW 18650 Cell

Light 2:

Quark Mini AA
1x AW 14500 Cell

Charger: Pila IBC

This should work fine, correct? Thanks in advance, I appreciate it.

I don't know why nobody has replied to you - there must be some people who know about these. Maybe it's because it's the holidays, and everyone is away (or hungover, lol).

I can certainly vouch for the Pila IBC charger and AW cells as good choices, and 4sevens lights have received very good reviews, but which cell fits in which light I am not sure.

I hope you get some replies with this bump.

4Sevens latest statement on the minis is not to use Li-ion batteries and that they are changing the next manual to state such.
With that said a lot of guys have been using them apparently with no ill effects.
Sorry but no info on the legoing.

It looks like you've been doing your homework. Yes, that should all work very well.
I would throw in a 1xAA battery tube, and you can run the turbo as a single AA sized light with that 14500.

Light 1 will work and Light 2 will work, but as said they won't lego with eachother.
Light 2 is okay for only short periods: when it's getting hot to hold it's time to cool off for a while.

Minis won't lego with anything. They only mate with their same types. All Quarks will lego but voltage is a consideration (i.e. don't use two cells with a one cell head). Additionally, using one cell with a two cell head like an 17670 or 18650 battery with a Quark 2x123 head will affect regulation, runtimes and maximum output.

Thank you all for your help. I've ordered the Mini AA, 14500, and the Pila, and will probably order the rest tomorrow.

The main thing I was confused about was the tactical tailcap working with the 18650 cell and the turbo head - I've not managed to find a single person running the configuration, which seems very strange to me considering that it seems like a really ideal light for the money.

That worries me a bit, but I thought that was only for the Mini 123, no?

Well by using a 14500 in a Mini AA, you are essentially making the AA perform & produce the same heat/light that the 123 would with a RCR123 cell.

And the AA has an even smaller head/mass to dissipate the heat.

But as long you restrict the use of high to very moderate durations, you will be fine. Low & medium should be unaffected.

You should think of the MiNi 123 the same as the MiNi AA. They use the same circuit. What applies to one would apply to the other. There might be a difference in mass, one is long and skinny, the other short and fat. It has been said by 4sevens that a 4V battery won't hurt either circuit, it's just a matter of the light getting too hot on the high setting.
