I'm in the market for a soda can flooder. I have been looking at both the acebeam x45 v1 and v2. I have an olight x7 nw now and that's what I'm looking to replace. I have had it for close to a year and a half. As far as functionality it's fine with one big exception and one small one. The big one is that turbo s and turbo go away way before nominal battery voltage. I loose turbo s at about 3.95V and turbo at about 3.8V. The small one is no lanyard attachment point. I have an acebeam x80 and it will go into turbo max when the batteries are at 3.2V and maybe even lower, it's just not practical for me to use it in certain circumstances because of the excessive heat it puts out. I'm hoping the x45 with the much bigger head dissipates the heat a lot better than the x80.

I'm looking for input on the x45 from any owners.

Any other suggestions for other lights of similar capability that I should look at are most welcome. Please don't recommend any thing that's not available in nw, has any type of battery pack or proprietary battery.

Thanks

Frank

Although powerful and efficient, the X45 is 100% pure flood. Whereas the TN40S is a thrower with a huge beam and tons of spill.

If you own the TN40S, you may be a little underwhelmed by the X45. Having owned both [at the same time], that was my feeling anyhow.

But I didn't sell the X45 because of that, but because of the UI [the timing required for turbo max was silly].

Thanks for the input.

The TN40 looks good but I think the x45 is a better fit for me. I know that I will be sacrificing throw but that's ok for this application 300 meters is all I need. The x45 claims 3.5 hours at 2000 lumens and 1.4 hours at 5000, verses 2.7hours at 1780 lumens and 85 minutes at 4450 for the tn40 also the x45 has a 9000 and 18000 lumen levels where the tn40 max is 4450. Let me just say that I have always been happy with trunite brand lights. I currently have 4 thrunites but a tn40 is not one of them. The one that I'm looking to replace is the olight x7. It steps down from turbo to 1800 lumens in less than 10 minutes. If I want 1800 lumens of flood I'll take my tc20 at one third the size and weight of the x7.

X45vn XHP70.2 op reflectors 25,000 lumens is my current short range wide beam power flooder. I have used it every single night for general duty around the facility since June 19, 2017, more than a year, all good. I use unprotected purple Efest. There are lights with more throw, but this item is best for full width close in flood. I like Acebeam, too; always coming out with new items.

The X45 is rated for 583 meters, but it's an honest 150 meter light. If you need more distance than that, the X45 will leave you wanting more.

But they are both great lights and you can't go wrong with either.
