[h=1]Acer Aspire 4736z laptop Battery Shutdown problem?[/h]Hello,
my Acer aspire 4736z laptop batteries are giving me a headache as they have an unpredictable standby time sometimes it konks off after just 10 mins of usage sometimes it runs for an hour the battery usage signal shows a discrepant reading it almost always when the systems shuts itself off due to low battery the reading still shows that more than 2 hrs of battery standby is still available. This problem has cropped up suddenly and almost every time the windows has to be resumed.

First of all, :welcome:

Every laptop battery should occasionally be calibrated so that the battery meter accurately shows the battery level. Google "calibrate laptop battery" to find out how to do this. It might fix your problem.

Otherwise you probably have a hardware or software problem. Reloading your operating system will fix the software. Good luck.

I am afraid your cells are old and have high internal resistance...it means they can't deliver higher currents (for example you utilize your CPU to higher %) - so they can last longer under low current (idle/office work) but they fail in load (playing games, antivirus check...) This is also confusing for the battery monitoring chip so it gives strange readings.
