Hi everyone, I am doing quite a bit of googling without much success. I'm trying to find a helmet mount for my recently purchased LL P7.2.

I was originally going to purchase a Streamlight PolyPromax, but hassles with postage etc outside of the USA meant that I went the easy option instead with the LedLenser. The P7.2 is more than adequate for my needs for work and I dig having both the option of floody diffused light for close up work and pinpoint beam for inspection of equipment at a longer range. It would be nice to have a handsfree option as well though.

The PolyPromax had a great hardhat mount system where the mount either stuck directly to the outside of the hat, or into one of the side slots , but as the profile of the Streamlight (rectangular) is different to that of the LL (round) I can't use it. All of the helmet mounts for the likes of Surefire seem to clamp to the brim which is not an option on my construction style hat, plus I like the way you could adjust the angle of the Streamlight unit (see the area on accessories on the page below):

Any thoughts or suggestions will be much appreciated. LedLenser bashing will not.

Cheers!

Tristan.

My first thought would be to write an e letter to Led Lenser direct and ask them.In the UK Led Lenser are sold by many PPE(Personnel Protection Equipment) companies and i presume that question pops up on a regular basis.

You might PM carpentryhero he had two different lights mounted to his hard hat.

I once mounted a little light on the front brim of my hard hat by pulling off the clip mount and pop riveting the base of the mount to the brim.

A friend used a headlamp, double sided tape and velcro. Worked well for him.

The high clip is a pelican clip, the one for round lights is a Blackjack clip.

i bought them from a place that sells to firefighters and police, down in Calgary Alberta

I've since switched to both lights being in blackJack clips

their are three or more models as well as a rubber strap style mount for fireman hats, I haven't tried those

Yes, this is a good option if you have a brim all the way around. Unfortunately there does not seem to be a stick on, or clip in version (similar to the Streamlight offering) for round bodied lights.

Cheers for the reply though,

Tristan.

Go Pro makes mounts for their cameras that might work, flat or curved helmet base mount and pole mounts combined might work. The Pole being the light in this case. If that combination doesn't fit then other ones might work. Their mounts Lego connect so there are a lot of ways to use them.

The global mount can be glued anywhere on the helmet I'll pm you a link

If I had it to do again I would have gone that route.

the blackjack clips I have do fit on traditional Hardhats but it's hard to have them face forward with the few places they will fit in
